AV Assistant

JOB SUMMARY:
Part-time, entry-level position that provides audiovisual technical support to the CCRI faculty, staff, students, and community within the classroom and for college and community events.
Available shifts:
- Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Monday thru Thursday 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM
- Saturday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Tier 1 level customer support, troubleshooting, and resolution with audiovisual hardware and software applications, online education and video conferencing applications, and other peripheral devices used within classrooms, conference rooms, and event spaces
- Provide professional and courteous customer service to clients of varying technical expertise and needs
- Ensure accurate technical and end-user issue documentation and ticketing. Courteously obtain and convey accurate information to appropriate internal and external service personnel
- Set-up/break-down, support, assists with, and operates a variety of audiovisual equipment for college related business and events, and for college hosted community events. Equipment includes, but not limited to video projectors and displays, cameras, media playback hardware and software, microphones, audio mixers, PA systems, and other peripheral devices.
- Deliver and retrieve equipment as designated
- Perform cable and equipment maintenance as designated
- Assist with web, audio/video conferencing applications, including but not limited to Webex and Zoom, for hybrid and remote meetings
- Assist with developing and maintaining Help Desk knowledge base articles and how-to content
- Remain current on audiovisual technologies, methodologies and equipment
- Complete projects as assigned
- Perform additional duties as assigned
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
This position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of two years of relevant audiovisual/multimedia experience
- Basic computer and mobile device knowledge required.
- Demonstrated experience with clear and concise verbal and written communication; in-person, over the phone, virtually, via email, etc.
- Demonstrated experience in a customer service position
- Ability to work with potentially difficult customers and in stressful situations Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to time constraints
- Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, as well as safely lift and push 25 pounds
- Ability to visually and auditorily inspect and calibrate audiovisual equipment as required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree
- Knowledge of academic related audiovisual/multimedia hardware and software
- Audio and video technologies and event support including, but not limited to:
- video presentation technologies
- digital classroom and mobile technologies
- multimedia capture, production, editing and programming tools audio consoles and sound systems
- web conferencing
