Associate Director Transfer Center
Job Summary:
The Associate Director of the Transfer Center provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of CCRI’s Transfer Center. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of transfer services, including student recruitment, advising, registration, enrollment, and outcomes tracking. A primary focus is the expansion and optimization of the Joint Admissions Agreement (JAA) with the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College. The Associate Director will champion equity-driven transfer success, integrate modern technology systems, and collaborate across departments and institutions to ensure seamless student transitions.
The Associate Director will apply nationally recognized best practices in transfer student success (e.g., Aspen Institute, Achieving the Dream). This includes embedding equity into transfer strategy, developing clear programmatic pathways, fostering cross-functional advising, and leveraging technology to personalize support. The Associate Director will lead CCRI’s efforts to build strong, data-informed partnerships with the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College, ensuring that students transfer efficiently and graduate successfully.

Strategic Leadership & Program Development
- Lead the growth and modernization of the JAA program, including strategic partnerships with the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems that support seamless student transfer and academic progression.
- Collaborate with Academic Affairs to expand course-to-course articulation agreements and transfer pathways.
- Evaluate and improve transfer-related practices using data analytics and student outcomes.
- Represent CCRI in national, statewide, and regional transfer initiatives and meetings.
Student Recruitment, Advising & Enrollment
- Design and lead proactive outreach campaigns to recruit and retain students in transfer pathways.
- Provide high-impact advising to students on CCRI degree requirements, transfer options, and academic planning.
- Register students and support them through the enrollment lifecycle, including Satisfactory Academic Progress appeals and financial aid processes.
- Coordinate and host transfer fairs, workshops, and info sessions.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of transfer requirements and opportunities.
Technology & Data Systems
- Leverage student success platforms (e.g., Civitas Learning, Element 451) to track student progress, engagement, and outcomes.
- Maintain and enhance the Transfer Center website and digital resources.
- Use Ellucian Banner and other systems to monitor retention, transfer rates, and student success metrics.
- Collaborate with IT and Institutional Research to improve data reporting and decision-making.
Equity, Inclusion & Student-Centered Support
- Foster an inclusive environment that supports students of diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and life experiences.
- Identify and address barriers to transfer success, including academic, financial, and personal challenges.
- Support students in Satisfactory Academic Progress appeals and other enrollment-related issues with empathy and efficiency.
- Develop and deliver educational services and activities tailored to student needs.
Operations & Supervision
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Transfer Center, including staff supervision and budget oversight.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Select, train, and evaluate professional and clerical staff.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in student advising, enrollment management, transfer services, or related field.
- Experience with student success technologies and data-informed decision-making.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and digital enrollment management tools.
