Adjunct Faculty – HVAC
Job Summary:
The Department of Physics and Engineering seeks a knowledgeable and experienced Adjunct Faculty member to teach Introduction to HVAC Systems within the Applied Engineering and Energy Systems (AEES) program. The ideal candidate will have significant hands-on experience in the HVAC industry and a passion for teaching students who are preparing to enter the field. This course introduces students to the fundamental principles, components, and systems used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Effective Teaching
- Teach Introduction to HVAC, focusing on foundational HVAC theory, safety practices, tools, and system operation.
- Prepare course materials, assessments, and instructional activities that align with departmental outcomes and requirements.
- Engage students through hands-on exercises, demonstrations, and interactive learning strategies.
- Evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain currency in the HVAC industry and integrate real-world examples into instruction.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated expertise in HVAC systems and technologies.
- Ability to effectively teach and communicate complex technical topics to students with varied educational backgrounds.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five (5) or more years of active professional experience in the HVAC industry.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Prior teaching or training experience, preferably at the college or technical level.
Licenses, Tools, and Equipment:
- Use of standard HVAC tools and instructional lab equipment as appropriate.
- Access to personal transportation is required.
Environmental Conditions:
This position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
