Adjunct Faculty – Engineering and Technology
Job Summary:
The Department of Physics and Engineering seeks a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Adjunct Faculty member to teach Introduction to Engineering and Technology and other engineering-related courses. The ideal candidate will have professional experience in engineering or technology fields and a passion for teaching students pursuing careers in engineering, technology, or related disciplines. This course introduces students to the engineering profession, fundamental problem-solving methods, engineering design processes, teamwork, and technology applications across disciplines.
[Work Schedule: Part-Time (Daytime Availability Required)]
Duties and Responsibilities:

Effective Teaching
- Teach Introduction to Engineering and Technology and other assigned engineering courses.
- Prepare course materials, assessments, and activities aligned with departmental and program learning outcomes.
- Incorporate active learning, hands-on projects, and design-based exercises into instruction.
- Engage students in collaborative problem-solving and introduce modern engineering tools and technologies.
- Evaluate student progress and provide constructive, timely feedback.
- Maintain currency in the field of engineering education and technology.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles, design methods, and technology applications.
- Ability to effectively teach and communicate technical concepts to students with diverse educational backgrounds.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience in an engineering or technical setting.
- Prior teaching or training experience, preferably at the college or technical level.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Licenses, Tools, and Equipment:
- Use of standard engineering tools, software, and instructional equipment as appropriate.
- Access to personal transportation is required.
Environmental Conditions:
This position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
